Making Shoes for Sole Hope

Service Stars was very excited to support Sole Hope - our first international organization. The kids learned about how a foot parasite called jiggers can affect a child’s ability to walk, run, play, and just be a kid. Then they cut patterns out of old jeans to send to Sole Hope, which employs people in Uganda to make the shoes and bring them to children in rural areas. The kids had so much fun cutting the jeans and even completed an obstacle course challenge to bag medical supplies. We finished the day with enough jean patterns for 10 pairs of shoes and 22 medical supply bags. Wow! Great work for a great cause!!
