Honoring Our Veterans

Thanks to some amazing kids who spent their Veteran’s Day giving back, veterans at the New England Center and Home for Veterans will have their Thanksgiving meal on some some very festive placemats. They will also be receiving thank you cards from our group. We spent the day learning about the sacrifice that veterans have made for our country and even got to hear personal stories from two veterans who spoke to the group. Thank you to councilman Jake Auchincloss and Mr. Tobin! We also made crafts and cards for patients at the VA hospital. Many families came to our drop-in craft event and made a donation to our veterans.

During our summer camp, our older stars brought their can do attitude to the West Roxbury VA hospital to bring some cheer to our veterans that are currently inpatient at the hospital. We met some amazing men and women who served our country with bravery and pride. The veterans were so happy to have visitors and receive our small gifts. Many of these brave men and women had not had a visitor in over 3 weeks. We really made a difference in their day and ours.
